FIELD TILE CLEANING JUST GOT EASIER...
A client in the Otago region recently approached Kerrick with a request for a Field Tile Cleaner that could be mounted onto the back of a tractor allowing easy transport to site on the farm.
The team in Kerrick’s Dunedin branch took the challenge on board and built a robust galvanized skid unit with three point linkage that could easily be attached and detached from the client’s John Deere tractor. The field tile cleaner had a large 450 litre water tank allowing extensive work to be carried out when a reliable water source is out of reach. The unit came equipped with a 25 HP, petrol Kohler motor and Italian ceramic piston pump operating at 3,000 psi with a flow of 30 l/min a powerful flow to pressure ratio that is ideal for field tile cleaning work.It also came equipped with a large mud guard to prevent mud, grass and other debris being flicked up onto the equipment.
Other features included a manual hose reel with 150m of 3/8 thermoplastic light weight hose, a gun and lance assembly with convenient mount and a standard 3/8 drain nozzle with 1 front jet - 6 rear with replaceable inserts. A 3 way valve assembly was also fitted to divert water to either the tank or reel as required.
Understanding where the client’s needs lay and designing a well thought out, practical piece of equipment was key to the successful completion of this build. As evidenced by the fact that the pump can be changed to a pressure of 2,000 psi at 47 l/min and the manual hose reel can also be swapped out for a hydraulic driven reel assembly, should the client wish to do so.
