Surface Preparation Trailer Helps Contractor with Painting Work

SURFACE PREPARATION MADE EASY WITH WATER BLASTER TRAILER

After securing a contract to carry out the re-painting of a large industrial building Taupo Coating Specialists (TCS) approached Kerrick with a need for a custom built water blaster. To prepare buildings for painting they first needed to be washed down using a high pressure water blasting system to remove loose paint, dirt and other debris. The surface preparation system needed to operate at flow of 15 l/min and 4000 psi to get optimum results and have a large 400 litre water tank allowing work to be carried out over long periods without needing to stop.

Having built a number of similar water blasters for surface preparation work, Kerrick was happy to rise to the occasion and build the unit TCS was after. Features of the trailer Kerrick built included a heavy duty 14 HP Kohler electric start engine, quality CAT pump and twin hose reels (one with 75 m of high pressure hose and one with 30m of low pressure hose). Kerrick also supplied a range of accessories to assist in carry out out surface preparation work included a gun and lance, sand blasting head and 1.5 m extension wand.

Mike Cameron (TCS Director) was extremely happy with unit being delivered to site on time and with the training given to the team. The unit works well and accessories supplied alongside it have helped to increase the overall efficiency.
